SOFTWARE ENGINEER III

Job Summary Under minimal supervision, designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and deploys complex software programs for enhancement of products and new products.
Responsible for complex concept design through the full development life cycle.
Prepares and conducts functional and unit tests.
Responsibilities Working from requirements written by other team members, designs, develops, tests, documents, and deploys features and enhancements for new products and existing products.
Thoroughly analyzes requirements, making design decisions and articulating tradeoffs to produce concept designs and logical designs through the full development life cycle.
Prepares and executes functional, unit, and usability tests.
Conducts system programming tests requiring interfacing with other software and environments.
Documents software programs with flowcharts, data models, sequence diagrams, data flows, decisions trees, state change, and other architectural diagrams.
Ensures all users have a full understanding throughout the development cycle.
Hosts design and code reviews, facilitates discussion, and gains team consensus.
Writes code in modern programming languages, conducts design and code reviews, follows full SDLC (RAPID) and S-SDLC guidelines.
Manages the Git repository -- branching, commits, pull requests, provides constructive reviews, and builds and manages CI/CD pipelines.
Implements abstract patterns for infrastructure-as-code using Kubernetes, Terraform, and similar.
Triages and diagnoses code defects.
Coaches others in less senior positions.
Creates reusable technology patterns.
Supports products after deployment.
Researches and finds internal to FDX and/or 3rd party tools which can be used to solve complex software projects.
Skills/Abilities Experience building end to end solutions in cloud platforms.
Azure is preferred, other platforms like AWS and GCP a plus.
Experience with source control tools like Git as well as knowledge using Azure DevOps.
Experience in development using C#, Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bash.
Experience in development and using RESTful services and passing data in JSON and XML formats, and efficiently manipulating the JSON/XML data.
Comfort with database concepts and experience writing SQL in a relational database such as Azure SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment and working with user stories and acceptance criteria.
A willingness to learn and explore new technologies, gain expertise in a vast technology stack (mainly Azure and all if its functionality), and figure out solutions by conducting immersive research and troubleshooting.
Minimum Qualification ·   Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
·   Three to Four (3 - 4) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
​ A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirements.

The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.
