As Staff Electrical Engineer in the Tower Team, you will help determine the future of the multimedia and computing center in the robotic surgery space.
Candidates must be self-motivated and independent, have an eagerness to learn and work as a team, and have the desire to thrive in a very fast-paced environment.
You are expected to demonstrate advanced electrical engineering knowledge, be able to independently resolve approaches to difficult technical problems and have communication capabilities vital to communicating broadly across engineering teams.
Core Job Responsibilities.
Develop, produce, and test complex printed circuit boards for computing, image processing, audio/video, test fixtures, etc.
Deliver documentation to support designs such as technical reviews, engineering studies, and theory of operations.
Perform component and subsystem level testing to ensure design, safety, and compliance conformance.
Conduct robust design reviews and contribute to design failure-mode analysis.
Lead subsystem projects with minimal guidance and act as a mentor to younger engineers.
Define priorities with limited oversight according to program objectives.
Qualifications Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience.
Bachelor’s with 10+ years or Master’s with 8+ years in electrical engineering or related field.
Proven track record providing technical direction, mentorship, and expertise to others, including external contractors, partners, and suppliers.
Demonstrated proficiencies in Altium Designer or related CAD tools for schematics and PCB layout.
Demonstrated ability to debug and test using high-speed oscilloscopes and other tools.
Detailed understanding of board-level printed circuit design and high-speed signal integrity issues.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience.
Proven experience designing and developing complex electrical systems from feasibility/concept through to production.
Experience with power supplies and power distribution, control systems, high-speed computer design, network architecture, etc.
Experience with embedded systems and real-time computer systems.
Design for electromagnetic compatibility and immunity, electrically fast transients, electrostatic discharge, etc.
Design for test, manufacture, and assembly.
Experience in Medical Devices, 21 CFR Part 820, IEC, etc.
