Aachen We are actively seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr.
Software and Hardware Test Engineer to join our innovative team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test plans for both software and hardware components.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems, proficiency in programming languages, and a passion for ensuring the highest quality in product development.
Responsibilities.
Test Planning and Design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product specifications and requirements.
- Develop detailed test plans that encompass both software and hardware aspects, ensuring thorough coverage.
- Design and implement test fixtures where required Test Execution.
- Conduct functional, regression, and system testing for software applications and embedded systems.
- Utilize automated testing tools and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency.
- Perform hardware testing using relevant tools and equipment, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
Test Automation.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve overall testing efficiency.
- Implement continuous integration and continuous testing practices to streamline the development pipeline.
Performance Testing.
- Conduct performance testing to assess scalability, responsiveness, and overall system reliability.
Documentation.
- Create comprehensive and clear test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
- Collaborate with development team members to ensure product documentation accurately reflect product behavior.
Collaboration.
- Work closely with software developers, hardware engineers, and product managers to identify and address issues.
- Participate in design and code reviews to provide valuable input on testability and quality aspects.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of proven experience in software and hardware testing, with a focus on embedded systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, or C++.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and version control systems (e.
., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous testing tools (e.
., Jenkins).
- Knowledge of industry standards and protocols related to hardware testing.
- Experience with security testing principles and practices.
- Familiarity with hardware debugging tools and oscilloscopes.
- Understanding of hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.
is a plus.
- Certification in software testing (e.
., ISTQB) is a plus.
