The Senior Engineer provide Quality Engineering Leadership and technical know-how in the development of product life-cycle improvements aimed at improving the Customer Experience.
This position is accountable for the delivery of engineering solutions that improve the Customer Experience for Johnson and Johnson Surgical Vision products and equipment.
In addition to life-cycle improvements to improve product performance and overall customer experience, this position will be responsible for external supplier engagement relating to design, process and quality consistency impacting customer experience.
The ability to partner and provide technical leadership with Supplier Quality/External Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering/Operations will be paramount for this position.

Define & resolve complex issues to improve customer experience; recommend, guide and implement business strategies, technical solutions through innovation and science Have a customer focus with the ability to make the complex clear by having a diverse knowledge of engineering Seniors and root cause resolution techniques to solve customer central challenges.
Participate in Design Thinking and immersive user research to identify opportunities for better brand experiences.
Translates requirements from multiple departments - Site Quality Directors, R&D, Complaint Handling, Data Analytics, Product Safety, Clinical/Medical Affairs, Field Services, Clinical Education and Medical Safety Officer to achieve root cause resolution As individual technical expert, may technically supervise other engineers or technicians Interact directly with customers (surgeons) to determine and identify unmet needs to support life-cycle enhancing improvements Provide technical expertise & ensure customer requirements throughout life-cycle of new product development, commercialization.
Risk Management activities over-sight throughout the NP life-cycle (Mfg Readiness Assessment, pFMEA, Control Plans Continuously identify and expand network of new technologies and quality standards Partner with Contract Manufacturers to build strong relationships and enhance the effectiveness of suppliers Adherence to EH&S procedures and supports department EH&S objectives Conceptualizes complete solutions.
Creates or coordinates the design solutions for novel or complex problems; integrates regulatory and operational needs; Explores multiple alternatives.
Structures studies and integrate cross-disciplinary and cross-functional issues to arrive at optimal course of action, e.

investigates process to meet increasing regulatory requirements while maintaining manufacturing efficiency.
Work with other engineers and engineering disciplines to design and develop proof of concept solutions and implement innovative technologies to deliver on the desired customer experience.
Qualifications Education.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field is required.
Higher degree is preferred.
Experience and Skills.
Required.
A minimum of 2 years working experience in Engineering Part Manufacturing and Product Engineering experience 3D CAD experience and ability to create detailed part drawings using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Technical understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes Understanding of GMP/ISO regulations, validation regulations Excellent understanding of root cause problem solving techniques Preferred.
Green/black belt certification Geometric tolerancing & stack-up tolerancing experience Injection molding process and part design experience Demonstrated Project Management & External Manufacturing Experience in design, development and commercialization of Class I-II medical devices.
Understanding of the NPI process and has a proven track record of technology transfer.
Demonstrated management abilities & ability to advise/influence within and across the organization.
