Project Overview Bechtel, along with key sub-vendors Bantrel and Comtech, has been appointed as the Delivery Partner (DP) within an Integrated Project Team (IPT) comprising the customer, Metrolinx, and its Technical Authority (TA) for the Ontario Line Subway (OLS) Project.
The OLS Project scope includes the design build, operation, and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being delivered through major Public Private Partnership (P3) contracts and multiple Early and Advanced Works (EAW) contracts.
The OLS Project is planned to open for revenue service in .
DP forms a key part of the overall leadership of the OLS Project.
Position Summary The Senior Strategic Planner will support the Strategic Planning Team in analyzing Ontario Line project schedules, working with the constructability group in identifying future issues, and developing mitigation options for Ontario Line senior management action.
The Senior Strategic Planner supports the evaluation of project schedules and the development of options to address and intervene in anticipated schedule delays.

This position reports functionally to the Ontario Line Delivery Partner Planning Manager and supports the Strategic Planning Project Director on a day to day basis.
Expected Job Experience Experiences typically include planning and scheduling for heavy civil and rail construction through urban locations.
Responsibilities Supports program level schedule development.
Develops, interprets, and executes policy objectives and standards applicable to schedule maintenance.
Performs schedule reviews to ensure compliance with Client’s expectation and coordinate the required level of integration among the major contractors.
Performs and/or coordinates, collects, verifies, and integrates the work scope for all entities into the total project plan.
Reviews the representation of project scope in schedules.
Establishes the conceptual scope of schedule studies.
Prepares and analyzes comparisons of scope and quantities between the projects.
Performs productivity analysis of construction operations and verifies.
Establishes productivity basis to be utilized in estimates, as developed in concurrence with Construction.
Reviews labor estimates for reasonableness.
Manages the preparation of subject-specific schedules on an as-required basis.
Supports the Strategic Planning team on a daily basis.
The Senior Strategic Planner will provide schedule extracts, schedule analysis and planning expertise in support of the Metrolinx/ Delivery Partner goals.
Supports development of scheduling standards and procedures.
Compiles, summarizes, updates, and maintains historical schedule data.
Monitors and reports the critical path and schedule performance of the total project.
Prepares and analyzes comparisons of scope, and quantities between projects.
Develops bid evaluation schedule criteria and prepares bid evaluations.
May participate in discussions with vendors.
valuates manpower requirements for each discipline/specialty relative to the overall project needs.
Determines quantity and manpower levels in support of the project needs and schedule philosophy.
Directs schedule analysis/study and problem-solving activities.
Develops and interprets guidelines applicable to the analysis function.
Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility.
Responsible for issuing reports required by Ontario Line management and project procedures.
Coordinates information input into specific studies.
Responsible for integration of activities and total work scope identification.
Evaluates study results and recommends conclusions for project team consideration and discussion.
Supervises/directs project schedule staffing and quantity reporting.
Provides guidance to Project Director on overall schedule impacts and solutions.
Qualifications and Skills Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar and 15 plus years of experience.
In Lieu of degree relevant project controls experience with an emphasis on project planning in the Engineering and Construction industry.
Additional Qualifications Experience and demonstrated skill in planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for project planning and scheduling activities.
Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.
Skilled in oral and written communication.
A demonstrated ability to present planning and scheduling information to management and clients.
Primavera P6 experience required.
Experience representing the client and reviewing / integrating contractor schedules required.
Expert analytical and computer skills required.
Preference given to experience managing heavy civil and rail projects.
