As a member of the DTMP team, the Senior Scientist will interact with diverse scientific disciplines including biochemistry, cellular pharmacology, hit identification, and protein science coupled with an ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
Within DTMP, the Lead Evaluation and Cellular Pharmacology department is responsible for the delivery of high-quality small molecule lead compounds by applying rapid, innovative, and therapeutically relevant cellular assays from target concept through the lead optimization process.
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and innovative scientific leader to drive the implementation of High Throughput (HT) cell-based assays broadly supporting our 5 therapeutic areas.
The ideal candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to connect with our partners to deliver on goals and objectives, foster an environment of collaboration, collegiality, and positive communication.
S/He should demonstrate strong independence at the bench, be adept at multi-tasking, and able to analyze and communicate data to colleagues within DTMP and with key partners.
The Scientist, Lead Evaluation and Cellular Pharmacology will.
Implement recombinant, primary, and/or complex cell-based assays with a variety of endpoints to enable de novo lead identification from large scale screening campaigns.
Conceive of and implement hit finding plans in collaboration with therapeutic area stakeholders and multidiscipline DTMP teams.
Execute, in some cases transition, and troubleshoot weekly assays in support of medicinal chemistry efforts, assuring high-quality data analysis and reporting.
Identify and implement new technology advances and scientific knowledge in the field and methods to apply them to assays in the laboratory.
Contribute data and methods to compelling scientific presentations and reports for internal review meetings and scientific journals.
Support characterization and optimization of lead molecules across small molecule, large molecule, and CAR-T modalities using high dimensional biological approaches examples including multiplexed cytokine analysis and HT flow cytometry.
Qualifications Minimum of 6-8 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience is required.
Master's Degree or Ph.
.
in Cell Biology and/or Physiology, Immunology, Oncology, or relevant field is preferred.
Possess strong working knowledge of basic molecular pharmacology including modes of target inhibition and activation.
Broad target class expertise in the establishment of robust miniaturized cell-based assays in automated plate-based formats including readouts such as fluorescence, chemiluminescence, and TR-FRET.
Knowledge of Lab automation platforms Demonstrated ability to construct hit finding and hit progression strategies.
Demonstrated ability to analyze, visualize, and interpret large (>1MM) data sets to enable hit triage.
Demonstrated excellence in both written and oral communication is required.
A publication record in immunology, oncology, or related biology area is a plus.
