The External Supply Senior Planner is responsible for serving as a strategic liaison between the Internal JSG customers and the external manufacturing sites.
The Senior Planner is responsible for the global planning and material management of externally manufactured and/or packaged products.
They define, measure, analyze, and implement improvements and control planning and material processes to ensure base business, launches, long-term, and individual goals are aligned with Janssen Supply Chain (JSC) strategic objectives.
The success of this role is measured by timely deliveries of orders, which meet target inventory levels and maintain continuity of supply to our customers.
Key Responsibilities.
Set up a balanced volume plan, detailed plan and material plan which takes into account operations efficiency, inventory and stock cost, SLOB risk and customer service Create and maintain Purchase Orders and SAP transactions Lead improvement projects or participate in IMT or critical issue discussions Create and maintain relationships, internally and externally, that allow plants to interpret demand and inventory requirements and respond with the right capacity, products and schedules to meet customer requirements Proactively identify issues that may impact supply, drive short- and long-term planning activities/processes and day-to-day planning Support and collaborate on QA and customer issues such as, retrieve, interpret, and supervise demand and sales trends, calculate safety stock, optimize inventory levels, resolve mismatches/payment issues, and lead monthly renewal process Collect monthly supplier performance metrics and create/update orders to external suppliers Follow global monthly planning schedule to deliver plans to downstream plants in OMP Communicate forecast and priorities to the external sites; including event planning.
Meet supply agreement terms and ensure timely information and payments to the external site.
Collaborate with E2E-planners, master data team, Partnership & External Supply (PES), Finance, Procurement, AP, QA/QC, Value Stream Lead (VSL), Launch Management, Inventory Management, and IT Manage inventory and SLOB process to maintain accurate and target stock levels at DC and EM sites Create new and ensure master data is accurate and updated as required for reliable MRP/ERP outputs Support S&OP and business plan teams Develop supply plans in support of new launches Ensure processes and systems are in place to support the new product launches Serve as a role model for Credo based decision-making and represent External Planning on Global Planning and cross team initiatives Track and report OTIF, SLOB, Inventory targets, Demand Order Coverage, STEM Adherence, stock outs, and on-time launch metrics Qualifications Education.
Minimum of a Bachelor's/University Degree required Experience and Skills.
Required.
Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in Planning, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related function Proficiency in SAP and MS Excel with strong analytical and quantitative skills, including ability to create V-Lookups and Pivot Tables Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries through influence, negotiation, and partnership and collaborate/communicate across teams cross-functionally to achieve process and performance excellence Ability to prioritize issues to support the customer and supply chain requirements Clear understanding of external Supply Chain trends and ability to derive business insights Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives and work in across teams where priorities change rapidly and require delivering results against tight deadlines Preferred.
Experience with one or more of the following processes.
master production schedule process, inventory management, scenario analysis, sales and operations planning, and/or Planning Systems (APO/OMP) Industry experience in Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceutical APICS or LEAN Certification Other.
Requires fluency in English (oral and written) Requires the ability, through our flexible work policy, to work on-site a minimum of three days each week Requires the ability and flexibility to accommodate US, EMEA, and APAC work schedules when needed Requires ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
