This role will be part of the Global Services Finance team in the Enterprise & Employees Financial Services process area.
The Global Services Finance organization provides best-in-class, cost-effective financial services, and compliance—in a J&J way—to our Operating Companies around the world.
Position Summary The position will be part of the Global Payroll Hub organization.
It is critical for the Sr.
Payroll Analyst role to have knowledge and experience in payroll operations, automations, continuous improvement, and payroll project in EMEA and ASPAC towards building and operationalize hub capabilities.
This role will have direct interaction with third party vendors operations and project team by providing inputs needed to both payroll and timekeeping systems.
You will also facilitate and have tactical responsibilities in the areas of Automations/RPA, Continuous Improvement initiatives, project deliverables and system improvements.
The role will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive knowledge of payroll requirements, practices, and procedures for the country and ensuring accurate and updated documentation of these requirements.
Strong collaboration, agility, and solution mindset are critical for this role.
Key Responsibilities · Create and implement improved/automated processes in ASPAC and EMEA Payroll · Expand knowledge of automation tools (e.
.
Alteryx, UiPath, Power Automate) · Support payroll project implementation, transition, and continuous improvements.
· Focus on standardization, harmonization, and centralization of processes within the regions.
· Collaborate with Global payroll, IA team, EMEA S&T team, regional CI specialists and all payroll colleagues in the region to ensure the proposed action plans will be rolled out and adopted.
· Serve as a Payroll support for the different phases of the project like testing, data management, process documentation etc.
· Supports multi-country payroll to have an effective operational model in compliance with company policies as well as statutory and legal requirements.
· Collaboration with HR in-country, regional hubs, GPO and other stakeholders across the organization and other functions.
· Provide expertise on payroll calculation process with third-party payroll provider.
· Execution of tasks and assigned deliverables for project activities initiated by Service Delivery, Payroll GPO, Global Services, and non-payroll entities (HR, Finance etc).
· Conduct assigned tasks pertaining to User Acceptance Testing and verification of system changes.
· Ability to perform reporting and remittances such as month end, quarter end and year end payroll returns.
· Support the creation of annual payroll calendar, payroll elements and year-end updates.
· Close collaboration with payroll vendor operations (TPV) POC regarding upgrades/changes to payroll system when required.
· Execute, in accordance with globally established standards, processes for SOX compliance, internal controls, and required regulatory/statutory requirements (including payroll record data maintenance).
· Maintains a high degree of confidentiality, data protection assurance, conformity with J&J policies, procedures, external regulations, and agencies.
· Create, update, and maintain payroll process and administration documentation.
· Logs and executes continuous improvement and automation opportunities.
· Support cross-functional projects with payroll dependency.
Qualifications Qualifications A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
A minimum of 4 years of prior experience in payroll operations for EMEA or ASPAC is required.
Prior experience in supporting Time and Attendance preferred (e.
.
ADP eTime/Kronos, SAP Time).
Prior experience leading a team as an SME or team lead and demonstrable ability to motivate and manage a team is preferred.
Prior experience in payroll project implementation is preferred.
Strong knowledge of payroll processing in EMEA or ASPAC is required (processes, regulations, vendor landscape, etc.).
Payroll certification is preferred (e.
.
CPP, CFP) Strong English language verbal and written communication skills is required.
In addition, Verbal and written proficiency in Portuguese is preferred.
Advance research and problem-solving skills required.
Ability to execute tactically, quickly adapt to situations, and address day-to-day operational challenges with minimal supervision.
Cultural awareness and an ability to work with a multitude of people across multiple markets assigned.
Prior experience with payroll processes as well as month end, quarter end or year-end payroll returns or remittance, procedures, controls, regulations, and compliance is required.
Knowledge and/or experience with the Leading Third-Party Payroll Providers (ADP, NGA, SDWorx, etc.), Kronos, Salesforce Service Cloud, Workday is preferred.
Prior experience in a multi-national company, and/or experience in a Finance/HR Shared Services required.
Knowledge and/or experience with Knowledge Management artifacts such as Desktop Procedures (DTPs) and proficiency with Compliance requirements (SOX and Business Controls) is required.
