The Senior Occupational Health Nurse will assist in coordinating a cross functional health and wellness team for employees.
Working alongside the Site Lead, Senior Coordinator, Nurse Practitioner, EAP and Wellness staff, the team will be responsible for the provision of Global Health services including Occupational Medicine, and Wellness & Health Promotion programs.
Services are provided under the mentorship or supervision of the Site Lead.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
Provides clinical healthcare services including.
Nursing care for Injuries & illnesses which includes responding to onsite medical emergencies, Case Management of Occupational Injuries and Illness, Medical Surveillance examination and general health education and coaching Responsible for compliance associated with occupational health at the locations they support including, compliance with applicable OSHA regulations and recordkeeping and J&J Global Health standards.
Drives increased health outcomes including reducing population health risks, managing and eliminating workplace health risks and supporting improved business outcomes through advancing employee health and wellbeing.
Provides various preventive health evaluations and tests in accordance with Global Health policies and protocols.
Maintains accurate clinical records, utilizing approved medical, nursing and statistical formats, including use of an Electronic Medical Record.
Maintains and cultivates a safe working environment.
Acquires knowledge of the occupational hazards and treatment for exposures for assigned locations.
Partners with other members of the Global Health team as well as Human Resources, Safety and management partners to encourage an integrated team approach to solving problems.
Participates in the development of Site Business plans supporting key Global Health initiatives Participates in the Employee Development Program process.
Attends continuing education programs.
On occasion support off-site and off-shift programs.
Qualifications Current Registered Nurse license for the state of California required.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required.
Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S) required (or must acquire within 2 years of hire).
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a professional nurse is required.
A minimum of 3 years of Occupational Health Nursing is required.
Current CPR/AED certification is required.
Phlebotomy skills required.
CAOHC Hearing Conservation certification required (or must acquire within 12 months of hire).
NIOSH Spirometry required (or must acquire within 12 months of hire).
Current CPR/AED certification required.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Outlook, and Microsoft Excel is required.
Familiarity with America Association Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN) strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of regulatory areas; i.
.; ADA, OSHA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, STD/LTD is required.
Strong Case Management experience is required.
Outstanding leadership skills required; ability to gain trust and influence at all levels; collaborative.
Strong interpersonal and people skills including the ability to motivate, cooperate and work effectively with others, and build partnerships with various departments.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Up to 10% domestic travel may be required.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year.
Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
