May   Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the Senior Lead, Professional Practice Assurance is responsible for supporting Teck’s BC and Alberta professional governance teams.
The forward focus is to maintain and strengthen compliance, support registrants and continuously improve the program components currently in place while maintaining Teck Coal’s professional Practice program for BC (EGBC) and Alberta (APEGA).
To be successful, we are looking for a strong leader with exceptional written, listening and influencing skills as to achieve and maintain compliance and continuous improvement throughout Teck Coal.
We require someone with strong communication skills with a demonstrated affinity for relationship building within Teck and external stakeholder groups.

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Maintain, update and continuously improve the Professional Practice Management Plan with collaboration with the Responsible Registrants Support Responsible Registrants and Registrants with various audits to the extent practicable Support implementation of new, modified, or existing processes and systems at sites and applicable offsite groups consisting of approximately 500 BC Registrants and 50 Alberta Registrants and provide training where needed Coordinate the compliance team by establishing annual work plans, organizing and leading regular responsible registrant meetings  Actively develop to become an authority on guideline and enactment requirements and help develop Teck Coal’s interpretation of these items where required  Monitor developments related to emerging regulated professional requirements under the PGA in BC and AB including the inclusion of other non-engineering or non-geoscience professionals such as RPBio, Professional Foresters, Technologists, and Agrologists    Qualifications.
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or geoscience Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC); Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration  Minimum ten years experience in resource sector or a related industry  Experience in a supervisory capacity Transformation experience in a large, complex business environment, strategic development, multidisciplinary initiatives, and project or program management In depth technical knowledge of EGBC’s regulatory practices and requirements is an asset Experience with process development, implementation, management of change and compliance is an asset Experience with Quality Management Systems including ISO and ISO is an asset Benefits.

$   The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
