SENIOR DIRECTOR, EXECUTIVE AND GLOBAL ORGANIZATION COMMUNICATIONS - INNOVATIVE MEDICINE

Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Senior Director Executive Communications and Engagement, located in New Brunswick, NJ on a hybrid schedule.
Position Summary The Senior Director is an important leadership role with the J&J Innovative Medicine Communications and Public Affairs organization, responsible for developing and implementing an integrated executive communication strategy for the J&J innovative Medicine business and serving as a key advisor to the Worldwide Chairperson.
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Reputation and Engagement, the Senior Director will lead the creation and execution of strategic initiatives to engage and educate internal/external audiences about our commitment to leading where medicine is going globally.
She/he will collaborate with others to build and execute an executive thought leadership program to amplify and deliver priority message themes to health care providers, payors, patients and patient advocacy groups, regulators, and employees.
The strategy will include paid, earned and owned channels, speaking venues, top-tier and trade media, op-eds, and by-lined articles.
The role also will develop an approach for awards and recognition and build a robust social media presence that includes both original content and amplification of corporate content.
The candidate will bring e xpertise in employee communications and engagement and a proven track record of using a multi-channel approach and innovative formats to deliver financial, strategy and business updates that are engaging and easy-to-understand.
She/he should also have experience working on culture-building initiatives.
Key Responsibilities · Defines, leads, and executes the strategy and plans to raise J&J Innovative Medicine executive visibility, thought leadership and reputation around the globe, while connecting with, aligning and inspiring employees and key stakeholders to drive execution global business goals and objectives.
· Sets the overall Innovative Medicine executive communications and messaging strategy, and measures of success for the Worldwide Chairperson and key members of Global Operating Committee, working across the sector and four regions to ensure alignment.
· Collaborates with senior leadership and key stakeholders to develop executive messages that align with the organization's mission, vision, and goals.
· Leads the development of WWC’s speeches, presentations, and other communication materials to support executive engagements and thought leadership initiatives.
· Oversees the planning and execution of employee engagement programs, including town hall meetings, leadership forums, and other internal communication initiatives.
· Coordinates with Reputation Management including Analytics & Insights to track & report progress against outcomes as well as Stakeholder Engagement to shape relationships with external stakeholders.
· Recommends industry trends and best practices related to leadership communications, thought leadership, and employee engagement.
· Works in partnership with HR and other internal stakeholders to support initiatives and ways of working that continually enhance the organization’s culture.
· Develops an approach for awards and recognition for the WWC and builds a robust social media presence to include original content and amplification of corporate content.
· Develops engaging employee communications, using a multi-channel approach and innovative formats to deliver financial, strategy and business updates that are engaging and easy-to-understand.
Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in communication or journalism preferred with liberal arts, business and political science majors/minors also considered relevant for the role.
10+ years of communications experience with at least five years’ experience in organizational and executive communications.
At least five years’ experience with team management and performance development.
Must possess superior writing, editing and oral communication skills.
Expertise in developing and implementing global business strategic communications plans and executive communication strategies in support of a total corporate positioning program; general business acumen.
Knowledge of the pharmaceuticals industry, healthcare environment and related legal, regulatory and compliance requirements; the ability to manage complex, high-impact projects with multiple stakeholders; knowledge of social media channels, especially LinkedIn, etc.
Ability to translate complex information into clear and effective messaging.
Knowledge of and interest in maximizing communications through Generative AI tools.
Experience in budget management, managing agency partnerships and collaboration.
Outstanding executive presence and proven track record of building relationships as a trusted advisor.
Able to navigate a matrix environment and ambiguous situations.
Deeply collaborative and comfortable driving results through influence Preferred Experience leading agency partners.
Demonstrated success within a matrixed corporate environment.
Worked within the Healthcare, Pharmaceutical/Biotech, or MedTech industry.
Salary The base pay range for this position is $ USD Bonus The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year.
Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year.
Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year.
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year.
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.
