Patients First | Innovation | Winning Culture | Heart Recovery POSITION SUMMARY A Production Engineering Co-op in the Breethe Operations group plays an integral role in Abiomed’s Manufacturing Department in a hands-on engineering role improving processes, qualifying equipment, and providing technical support in the manufacturing of the OXY-1 system in Baltimore.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Manages and executes projects and/or programs of moderate complexity ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, company standards, operation requirements and business needs.
· Manage prototype, V+V, pilot and commercial production of new products, product changes, and enhancements in coordination with the Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Quality Assurance organizations.
· Develop process documentation (assembly procedures, test procedures, routers, travelers, BOMs, process flows, and process FMEAs) in conjunction with Quality, while researching, defining and implementing new manufacturing technologies · Assure the stable manufacturability of new products by driving the design, qualification, optimization, and validation of processes and tooling via IQ/OQ/PQ, gauge R&R studies, process capability studies and designs of experiments · Leads the optimization of process output and throughput, equipment utilization, equipment downtime, waste reduction/yield improvements and capital investment management in an innovative manner.
· Provides technical support to the Production areas in evaluating process deficiencies, process changes, modifications, non-conformance issues, and equipment failure.
Defines, analyzes, reviews, and evaluates problems for prompt solutions.
· Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Company Policies and Federal, State and Local Government Regulations.
· Revise and maintain engineering, equipment’s and process procedure.
