Monday, May   For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students with a background in Mechanical Engineering who have experience identifying and managing risks that could adversely affect plant of business operations.
Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PDT or MDT or relocate to a specific office (site-based).
Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

Financial assistance to help with travel costs and co-op fees Opportunity to develop technical skills and gain practical experience while applying academic knowledge to real-world mining operations and projects Enjoy mentorship and guidance from experienced specialists in their respective fields Receive primary consideration for professional positions upon graduation   Responsibilities Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures   Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day   Support implementation and monitoring of Asset using predictive maintenance technologies (thermography, ultrasonic, vibration, and Oil analysis)   Assist in carrying out root cause analysis (RCA) to determine and develop engineering solutions for repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations.
Assist in PM optimization and development of Asset Strategy   Regularly review all equipment failures using data analysis to determine what preventative maintenance action might be taken to prevent failure in order to prevent against reoccurrence.
Monitor project budgets and identify inefficiencies and offer cost effective solutions   Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business   Check Condition Based Monitoring data results to identify and report all credible damage mechanisms that may afflict plant equipment in order to help with inspections, fabrication, repairs and operations of equipment.
Qualifications Must be currently enrolled in a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term.
You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is complete Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering   Comfortable working in a dynamic industrial work environment with a range of engineering, technical and operational personnel   Willingness to work outdoors and able to operate vehicles at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain   Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously   Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels   Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)   Experience with reliability tools (FMECA, FMEA, RCM, RCA, Pareto Graph, Jack-Knife Diagrams) would be an asset   Able to work efficiently independently as well as part of the team    Proven ability to learn innovative technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently    Ability to communicate with precision in a technical environment    Able to articulate sophisticated concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand       All students will also be required to complete pre-employment drug testing prior to commencing work.
Wage Range.
$ / Month Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
