I Am Abiomed | I Am Heart Recovery | Patients First! Role is responsible for leading project and product management standards and processes across digital products to ensure our efforts achieve maximum impact.
Manages IT financials and tracks progress of portfolio, oversees planning, funding and governance.
Key Responsibilities.
Advancement of Product-based Operating Model Crafts, refines, and implements new processes, workflows, and standard methodologies for the advancement of the product-based operating model.
Remains on the cutting edge of new tools and methodologies to iterate and innovate within the operations of the product organization.
· Support and mentor product teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.
· Responsible for implementation and maintenance of product planning tools · Find opportunities for operational improvement.
· Build standardized templates and establish sustainable data collection processes.
· Produce recurring and ad-hoc reporting in various formats.
· Plan and support all key operational requirements as we design, develop, and launch innovative new digital products.
· Develop and maintain relationships with team members and leaders across the organization.
· Support organizational change by helping to land process and policy changes through communications, training, and onboarding.
· Leverage central repository of Abiomed application ecosystem (Fusion, CMDB) and drive application life-cycle management.
· Other duties as assigned.
Strategy · Tie together business strategy with technology strategy and drive alignment across the portfolio to deliver prioritized business outcomes.
· Support leaders in managing and rationalizing investment demand and aligning to business strategy and capabilities needed.
· Facilitate development of value / business cases and allocation of budget to individual investments within the portfolio.
· Responsible for internal communications as well as measurement and reports of key metrics.
IT Financials and Portfolio · Collaborate with Finance, IT and Product teams to handle the profit and loss for the department, ensuring financial targets are met.
· Oversee the preparation of periodic portfolio budgets and forecasts to support portfolio level decision making.
· Monitor the realization of benefits and verify of actual cost of investments within the portfolio.
· Provide oversight and control of the investment portfolio.
Receive the feedback on risks, issues, forecasts from the team and use this to enable ongoing portfolio-level decision making and budget / resource re-allocation.
Qualifications Education.
· BA/BS required, MA/MBA preferred.
Experience and Skills.
Domain Expertise Required.
· Educational background or work experience in Business, Operations, Finance or STEM.
· Strong proficiency with financial management and project management practices, tools, and methodologies.
· Excellent analytical skills with ability to be detail-oriented and while communicating top down with GOC, Function / Franchise / Region / Product Group leaders.
· Thought leader in developing systems and tools to enable commercial capabilities to serve the customer (e.
., eCommerce, Multi-channel, Integrated Platforms).
Product Expertise Required.
· Strong understanding of Product Management discipline, especially as they apply to funding and outcomes.
· Experience as a Portfolio Manager on a cross-functional agile team preferred.
· Foundational skills (at minimum) in Data Engineering, Cybersecurity, Intelligent Automation and Emerging Technology Leadership and Behaviors Required.

A University Degree is required, master’s degree is preferred.
9 years of professional experience is required.
At least 3 years in a similar role as a senior manager and as a people manager.
A minimum of 3 years running a technology investment portfolio of $2M annually or more.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) is required.
Ability to explain digital concepts to senior business partners, as well as business concepts to technologists is required.
Demonstrate ability in partnering with partners to generate mutually helpful, long-term opportunities and negotiating outcomes is required.
Experience applying lean startup and design thinking principles is required.
Experience driving business outcomes through technology and data is required.
Validated experience in examining issues, crafting strategy and influencing effectively across a complex organization is required.
Demonstrated ability to improve organizational performance through the application of original thinking to existing and emerging methods, processes, products and services is required.
Employs good judgement in figuring out how innovations will be deployed to produce business outcomes is preferred.
