Summary.
A recognized degree in electrical engineering discipline, from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience.
Relevant work experience in FEED, proposal & detailed engineering preferably in an EPC industry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, oil and gas plants.
Responsible for assigned activities in electrical engineering discipline.
Job Dimensions.
Supervision Received Receives operational supervision and technical guidance from Senior Engineer.
Supervision Exercised Supervises and provides technical direction to designers and drafters as assigned.
Contact Contacts counterpart in other disciplines, supplier/client representatives and project field personnel when directed, to either gather or give information.
Essential Job Duties.
Performs electrical discipline work which involves the preparation, interpretation or review of calculations, specifications, electrical layout plans including lighting and grounding systems.
Participates in one or more of the following.
ETAP/Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL) Equipment design and development System design, including concept sketches and layouts Preparation of specifications and design calculations Reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data by other engineers or by suppliers Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports Preparation or review of material quantity estimates Uses engineering computer aided design/computer aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools Prepares letters for replies to vendor correspondence.
Monitors project controls within discipline.
Reviews design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and prepares comments & recommendations.
Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.
Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon directness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
Job Knowledge.
3 years’ experience in Design and Engineering, preferably in an EPC industry.
Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.
Experience of preparing technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions and vendor print reviews for various electrical equipment  Knowledge of SPEL for preparation of load list, MCC schedule etc.
Experience in various electrical layouts like grounding, raceways and lighting etc.
Knowledge of Building Power Management which includes controlling and monitoring of Building’s mechanical and electrical equipment such as HVAC, lighting, power systems, fire systems, access control and security systems.
Review of 3D Model in S3D and Autodesk Revit using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in % and 90% Model Reviews with Client, Vendor and Sub Contractors.
Knowledge of project controls within discipline.
Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
Basic skill in oral and written communication.
