The Employer Innovation Director, Health Policy & Advocacy is an SCG leader responsible for supporting and implementing strategic business initiatives in response to the changing healthcare environment, deployed specifically to Employer Stakeholders.
The Employer Innovation Director will be accountable for building effective stakeholder strategies and engagements that are on the forefront of emerging concerns impacting employee access, affordability, and treatment choice.
This includes emerging stakeholders, professional organizations, think tanks, and market disruptors.
The Employer Innovation Director will work in collaboration with the National Policy & Advocacy Directors, National Strategy and Policy Directors, and Employer Strategy team members to build proactive share of voice with these new and emerging influencers on Drive the Debate topics.
The Employer Innovation Director will provide leadership to distinguish J & J in the market, be a convener of stakeholders, and provide strategic insights internally in support of evolving business needs.
This role is highly consultative and requires partnering and interfacing with all internal partners (SCG Franchise Leadership, Brand Marketing, Communications, Government Affairs & Policy, Healthcare Quality, Scientific Affairs, Finance).
The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to anticipate and act proactively, and effectively in reactive, uncertain situations.
The position does not have direct reports but does require the ability to manage without authority cross-functional teams while being able to work productively.
Major Duties & Responsibilities Proactively engage with new and emerging stakeholders Identify upstream insights, priorities and positions with new & emerging stakeholders Build proactive share of voice with new & emerging influencers on Drive the Debate topics Support & contribute to internal Employer Strategy communication plan Partner with National Policy & Advocacy Directors to connect & convene Advocacy partners with new & emerging stakeholders.
Engage in coalition building to reach a common goal Develop & deliver stakeholder appropriate resources to support market access for the expanding Janssen portfolio (talking points, case studies, value props).
Support development into programs and platforms that positively impact appropriate access to Janssen’s products (existing/ development) aligned to the strategic imperatives of franchise with scalability over time.
Cultivate employer advocates to help shape external policy Monitor, inform, and deliver market insights to internal business partners Establish Janssen as a credible source for non-branded information Assist Employer Strategy Director w/ managing budget & execution of sponsorships & memberships Effectively communicate and educate the internal organization and national advocacy organizations on key employer trends Support efforts to integrate the Employer Strategy into Business Planning process across the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine portfolio.
Participate in Strategic Business Planning with internal partners Assist in evolving the Employer Channel strategy & establish Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine as a leader in the employer market Qualifications Required Years of Related Experience.
A minimum of at least ten (10) years’ experience in the Healthcare Industry is required At least five (5) years' related experience with employers, employer stakeholders, third party payers, marketing, sales, or related Healthcare Policy Strong background and understanding of the commercial payor policy and business model is required Understanding of complexities associated with the changing health care environment (i.
., IRA, ACA, Quality, care pathways and clinical guidelines) is required.
Ability to demonstrate effective communication of technical information is required.
Ability to demonstrate a customer centric approach and focus required.
Demonstration of ability to manage complexity and collaboration with numerous cross-functional teams is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
Understanding of complexities associated with the changing health care environment (i.
., IRA ACA, Quality, ASP, Managed Care, PBM, Healthcare Benefit Design, & Supplemental Benefits) is required.
Knowledge of/experience in dealing with health disparities is critical.
Ability to demonstrate effective communication of technical information required.
Demonstration of strong skills in strategic planning/development and execution is required.
Demonstration of ability to manage complexity and collaboration with numerous cross-functional teams is required.
Experience in working with complex markets is preferred.
Knowledge of national Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial policies/guidelines and understanding of how they impact treatment settings (i.
., inpatient, outpatient, hospital, physician's office, long term care, home health, etc.) is required.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) required.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment required.
Ability to demonstrate a strong customer-centric approach and focus is required Significant domestic travel is required (up to 50%) with regular travel to Horsham PA, Titusville, NJ and Washington, DC.

This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.
