The Director, Portfolio Management, will provide strategic, operational, and decision support to the Janssen Pharm Quality Leadership Team (PQLT) and the Janssen Quality (JQ) organization.
This role will have accountability for the Janssen Quality & Compliance investment portfolio, and will coordinate financial decisions and trade-offs to ensure investments support the overall strategic agenda.
In partnership with the business and finance, they will own the development of the annual business plan and long-range financial plan for the investment portfolio, develop portfolio planning processes, facilitate reviews at the various business cycles and gain management alignment.
In addition, the Director will lead select cross-functional programs and key strategic projects in support of the multi-year strategic transformation roadmap.
Key Responsibilities.
Portfolio Management Provide end-to-end visibility to the global portfolio of Janssen Quality (JQ) projects in collaboration with JQ functional project leaders Establish and lead JQ PMO (Portfolio Management Office) to drive successful execution of strategic projects and transformational initiatives across the JQ organization.
Develop the portfolio framework and governance to ensure portfolio prioritization reviews, decision making, and alignment to the business planning cycles – Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP) & Business Plans (BP).
Partner closely within JQ and with key business partners (e.
.
IT, Finance, JSC PMO, etc) to ensure management has a complete view of the total JQ portfolio, budget and spend.
Represent Quality in key portfolio review meetings.
Partner closely with JQ Strategy leads, Leaders and Project Managers to drive accountability on milestones, timelines and resources to achieve goals.
Establish program tracking and reporting, to ensure programs deliver their final project objectives, stay on track, financial commitments, benefits realization.
Own the portfolio planning lifecycle, provide expertise and consultation on all matters related to the execution of JQ investments.
Provide analysis and insights to the PQLT and to the JQ functions to enable effective prioritization, trade-offs and financial decisions Implement an agile and efficient process to prioritize projects within the portfolio, and flow appropriate resources to ensure benefits are realized.
Deploy process to standardize Value determination, business case development and track Value realization throughout the project lifecycle.
Strategic Initiatives / Program Lead.
Lead and/or support assigned projects, complex programs and initiatives as needed.
This may include project specific financial planning, communications, partner engagement, and change management.
Qualifications Education.
A minimum of a Bachelor's or equivalent University degree is required with a focus in Computer Science, Business, or Finance preferred.
Advanced degree preferred.
Experience and Skills.
Required.
At least ten (10) years of related work experience required (e.
.
Finance, Quality, Project Management or Portfolio Management) Business planning experience (e.
.
development of business plans and long range financial plans, financial reporting, allocation management, resource management, etc.) Strong familiarity with portfolio management software tools, methodologies, and standard processes Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills with ability to effectively identify priorities and assess trade-off decisions Self-starter, with strong demonstration of ownership and results Able to adapt to change, and meet timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Consistent track record of building consensus and driving outcomes without always having direct reporting authority Excellent written and verbal communications, ability to translate complex concepts for various partners and strong executive presentation skills Preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Previous portfolio management experience.
Experience using Planisware and Power BI.
Ability to build and cultivate strong, positive relationships with peers, business leaders, and business partners Ability to handle complexity with strong analytical and strategic skills Ability to lead and carry out project management control and reporting activities Pharmaceutical experience Quality experience Solid understanding of the business environment outside of the quality organization Other.
Must be proficient in the English language (speak, read & write).
This position may require up to 10% domestic & International travel.
This position has an estimated annual salary of USD$ Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs.
