The Director, Data Strategy, Partnerships and Innovation serves to proactively develop data as a strategic asset for the JNJ Innovative Medicine portfolio in the US.
S/he develops the forward looking vison, strategy, roadmap and execution for data as a competitive advantage for the JNJ Innovative Medicine (JNJ IM) portfolio in the US.
This leader will serve to acquire new data sources, provide transparent access and visualization of these data sources, integrate the data sources into existing and new platforms and develop robust data governance to ensure appropriate use of these data and application of privacy, compliance and legal guidance.
This role will serve the Neuroscience, JPH and CVM US Therapeutic areas as well as own Payer data solutions.
This role coordinates across multiple functions (PECS, SCG, JSA, GCSO and NS, JPH, CVM TAs).
The Director, Data Strategy, Partnerships and Innovation, reports to the Senior Director of Data Strategy, Partnerships and Innovation.
Main Responsibilities.
On behalf of the Neuroscience, JPH and CVM TAs, the Director, Data Strategy, Partnerships and Innovation will shape how JNJ IM US data are utilized by over 10K users across field and home office for a wide variety of purposes ranging from analytics, insight generation, Sales Incentive compensation, business management/metrics reporting and compliance/privacy/governance.
S/he will identify opportunities to drive topline revenue impact and bottom line cost efficiencies and synergies through a future proof data strategy.
The Director, Data Strategy, Partnerships and Innovation will be responsible for a group of data -focused employees and an operating budget supporting the Neuroscience, JPH and CVM therapeutic and functional areas, as well as Payer data solutions and operations.
In addition, this leader and their team will be responsible for alignment with data teams across the enterprise via the JNJ Data Management Council.
The Director, Data Strategy, Partnerships and Innovation will leverage deep industry expertise, to identify and scale partnerships with new innovative partners and existing vendors.
Further, this leader will drive internal partnerships with cross functional colleagues in JNJ Technology, Global Commercial Strategy Organization, Healthcare Compliance, Privacy, Legal and Risk Management.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities.
Lead the Neuroscience, JPH, CVM and Payer Data Strategy, Partnerships and Innovation team by proactively acquiring, and implementing best in class data strategies and tactics.
Provide in-depth data-related insight and advice to senior business leaders at Director, Senior Director and VP levels.
Influence and shape investments in novel and future-proof data sources, data products, aligned across business and functions.
Ensure synergies and efficiencies in data acquisitions.
Drive creation and capturing of value through data investments (ie return on data investments).
Perform impact analysis of data events/changes on various commercial operations processes (e.
.
Incentive Compensation, Call Planning, etc.) and engage business process owners to align on the action plan.
Manage the complete data life cycle from data sourcing, data management, data operations, quality assurance, compliance, and people & processes.
Build and grow a diverse team of experts with deep expertise and business acumen.
Lead a team through coaching, inspiring and developing the talent in the growing capability area.
Interact with and influence senior leadership across NA Pharm on opportunities and investments in Data that will provide key differentiation for our business growth.
Manage the budget and current inventory of data, ensure appropriate usage of data, and establishes metrics to measure the total quality of all data process (Data Governance Standards).
Determine and manage Service Level Agreements with data vendors (Such as IQVIA, SHS and others), track, govern and manage the data quality, accuracy and timeliness of data supplied by vendors.
Manage the relationship with Data vendors.
Operationalizes standard procedures for identifying, correcting, tracking and communicating data quality and timeliness issues.
Qualifications Required Skills & Experience.
BS Degree required; MS, MBA, PhD preferred.
At least 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience is required.
Experience with patient level, real world data and data platforms in a pharmaceutical commercial environment is required.
Deep knowledge of industry data and suppliers.
Knowledge of data governance best practices, and strong understanding of data lifecycle, data quality, metadata and data management is required.
End-to-End Process management.
Demonstrates the ability to leverage knowledge of complex processes in a global environment to anticipate issues and propose effective resolutions is required.
External Stakeholder Management.
Uses in-depth knowledge of supplier relations to improve business results, including enhanced service, reduced cost, improved quality, etc.
Demonstrates ability to partner with suppliers to ensure business continuity throughout normal business and special events is required.
Multiple Data Source Integration - Leverages expertise in working with different data sources and methodologies as well as past supplier experiences in various markets to solve complex and ambiguous business issues at a therapeutic/franchise level is required.
Ability to learn and apply industry trends/domains and end user needs.
Demonstrated ability to influence in a large and matrixed organization required.
Experience in managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers is required.
Experience to develop, communicate, advocate and execute a strategy is required.
Proven experience in prioritizing and managing a complicated portfolio of projects required.
Proven track record of leading and developing a highly collaborative team required.
Excellent communication and training skills required.
Other Details.
This position is in Titusville, NJ, and follows a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remotely per week.
The position will require up to 15% of domestic travel.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is between $142K to $213K USD.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
