The CNC Operator II performs all responsibilities as a multi-skilled, multi-tasking individual in an empowered team.
Performs various required tasks in the manufacturing of inserts to support the production of contact lenses.
Responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of CNC and metrology equipment according to established procedures.
Responsible for ensuring compliance to all safety and environmental policies, and maintaining area waste rooms.
Maintains current knowledge and adheres to provisions of FDA, OSHA, GMP, MPs, ISO , ISO , equipment, and process specifications.
Vigilant for maintaining compliance with Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities.
Intermediate level position qualified or working towards a qualification in Optical Tooling to one platform.
Responsible for operating equipment for the manufacture of inserts according to established specifications.
Cleans and maintains machines as needed.
Troubleshoots and corrects simple manufacturing problems promptly.
Maintains supplies and calibration records for equipments.
Notifies supervisor when machines needs maintenance or repairs.
Performs relevant metrology of machined parts using various instruments.
Accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines.
Train associates to established procedures.
A pre-identified candidate is being considered for this role.

Qualifications Required - High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have strong attention to detail.
Able to work a continuous operations schedule (days or nights).
Preferred - 2 to 4 years of experience in the machining trade or military training in a technical or mechanical field and/or equivalent experience within a CNC machining work environment.
Consideration is given to individuals enrolled in Vocational, Technical, Community Colleges or Apprentice machining programs.
Basic knowledge and familiarity with AutoCad and MasterCam.
Ability to inspect precision machined parts.
Ability to read and interpret multi-paged complex machining product blueprints.
Knowledge of, and the ability to apply algebraic, geometric functions to blueprint dimensions in the machining of products.
Prior experience in the medical device or FDA-regulated industry.
CNC programming (G & M code) experience and fabrication within a tight tolerance (+/- 2 micron) environment.
Ability to set up & program CNC machines (lathes, grinders, mill) to fabricate parts within +/- 2-micron tolerances.
Familiarity or ability to measure components using Metrology equipment Zygo (interferometers, VeriFire, VWA) and Taylor-Hobson Talysurf A pre-identified candidate is being considered for this role.
