Janssen Research & Development, LLC, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Alliance Leader, Diagnostics Partnering and Business Strategy located in Raritan, NJ; San Francisco, CA OR remote in the US for the right candidate.
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (JJIM) has established several diagnostic strategic partnerships in support of Oncology.
We are seeking to hire a motivated candidate for the position of Alliance Leader at level of Director, based on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
The Alliance Leader will report directly to the Head of Diagnostic Strategic Partnering for Oncology and own the success of alliance management with our diagnostic partners.
As an Alliance Leader, you will be the primary contact and overall relationship lead for the ODx organization with responsibility for the success of at least one (and often multiple) major JJIM diagnostic strategic partnerships.
This role will position you at steering committees as the key to the alliances’ success.
You will create impact for JJIM, our partners, and ultimately patients.
Since you will be the primary interface with our external partners at various levels (from executive leadership to technical teams), you will assist in driving the strategy, tactical execution, account growth, and coordination of our partnership.
Success in this role comes with the ability to effectively leverage the full breadth of the JJIM by coordinating with all our constituent diagnostic global teams, including commercial, regulatory, business development and project management of Precision of medicine.
Responsibilities Act as the “owner” of at least one JJIM partnership alliance, ensuring its overall success.
Maintain a strong relationship/partnership, through regular discussions and collaborations across all levels of the partner’s organization (from technical to executive).
Work jointly with partners to identify and scope out new project opportunities where JJIM is uniquely positioned to act as a valuable partner.
Collaborate with partners to understand their strategic goals and overall product roadmaps and ensure that this context is incorporated into JJIM’s project scoping and delivery.
Work with JJIM project teams and project managers assigned to oversee and track the progress of projects and their execution to ensure high quality and timely deliverables.
Be an excellent communicator and interpreter of technical and non-technical data, synthesizing complex information from disparate sources into concise and clear.
narratives, both internally to JJIM and externally with other partners Experienced in constructive decision making, resolution of conflict, and the building of effective top-down and bottom-up business relationships.
Understanding of the proper application of risk management techniques to ensure business priorities and quality standards are met.
Track project costs and forecast project revenue and align with project management organization (PMO).
Travel as necessary.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant work experience in partner-facing roles (e.
.
alliance management, business development, strategic account management) MBA, M.
., and/or PhD is a plus.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and mobilize people across the organization, and to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong aptitude for cultivating working relationships at all levels of management, both internally and externally.
Experience defining and maintaining strategic direction while ensuring successful execution of projects across oncology.
Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization across various functions and locations.
Has a track history of strategically thinking and problem solving through R&D challenges and development process obstacles.
Has shown aptitude towards learning and staying up to date on the latest advancements in diagnostic technologies and precision medicine.
Familiarity with diagnostic technologies and product landscape in areas including, but not limited to, next generation sequencing, immunohistochemistry, and PCR.
Persons with extraordinary and pertinent experience may be considered at the level of Director.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $200K-$271K.
In the Bay Area, the range is $230K-$312K.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year.
Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as health insurance, savings plan, pension plan, disability plan, vacation pay, sick time, holiday pay, and work, personal and family time off in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
